Youth gets life-term for killing girl friend

A court of Narsingdi today sentenced a youth named Jahangir to life imprisonment for killing his girl friend in 2022. 

The order was issued by the Narsingdi Extra District and Session Judge Court judge ANM Ilyas this afternoon. 

According to case statement, Jahangir had affair with an office (located in Targaon village of Palash) cook named Rita Begum.

On 7 October of 2022, the victim pressurized the convict for marriage when they were in an office room. At that time, Jahangir stabbed Rita to death and fled the spot.  

Later, the victim’s brother filed the murder case.

Later, based on police report and depositions of 15 witnesses, the court convicted Jahangir and sentenced him to life term imprisonment.
