Woman gets life imprisonment for possessing drugs in Narail

 A Narail court on Monday sentenced a woman to life imprisonment until death in a case filed for possessing drugs.

The convict is identified as Ahida Begum. The court also fined her Tk 50,000.

The court also acquitted four others as allegations brought against them could not be proved.

According to the prosecution, a team of DB police arrested five people along with 100 grams of heroin from a private car going to Narail from Jashore on Jashore-Narail Road at Sitarampur in Sadar upazila on October 13, 2015.

After examining records and witnesses, Narail District and Session Judge Munshi Md Mashier Rahman handed down the verdict.
