Amir Khashru, Nazrul, Rizvi among 1000 granted bail Tuesday

Dhaka, Aug 6 – A Dhaka Court on Tuesday granted bail to over one thousand political prisoners including BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury in different cases filed against them during the AL-led government.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Nurul Huda and Ali Haidar Kamal passed the orders.

Advocate Omar Faruk Faruki, a defense counsel said the accused in Setu Bhaban and Metro Rail Station sabotage cases also secured bail.

The leaders include-- BNP's senior leader Nazrul Islam Khan, its Senior joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, its organising secretary Sayedul Alam Babul, party's Dhaka North City unit President Saiful Islam Nirob, its member secretary, footballer Aminul Haque, convener of Dhaka South city unit BNP, Rafiqul Islam Majnu, BNP’s publicity secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, joint general secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie and BNP leader Nipun Roy Chowdhury.

The Gono Odhikar Parishad leader Nurul Haque Nur also secured bail in two cases, said his lawyer Khademul Islam.

Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho, chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) and BRAC university teacher Asif Mahtab, Jamaat-e-Islam secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, its Nayeb-e-Amir Dr Abdullah Md Abu Taher, central working council member and former secretary of Gazipur unti Jamaat-e-islami Samiul Haque Faruki, former president of Islami Chhatra Shibir Rashedul Islam also secured bail in different cases. - UNB
