Dhaka, January 12: The trial of the case filed against those involved in the BDR murder that took place at the BDR headquarters in Peelkhana, Dhaka will be held at the temporary court building adjacent to the Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, Dhaka district, instead of the temporary court building located in the grounds adjacent to the Government Alia Madrasa and Dhaka Central Jail in Bakshi Bazar area of Dhaka.
The Law and Justice Department issued an order in this regard today and published it in the Bangladesh Gazette.
The order signed by Law and Justice Secretary Sheikh Abu Taher states, "The government, by virtue of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act No. V of 1898), hereby orders the trial of Case No. 09, dated 06-04-2009, filed by New Market Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Area against those involved in the BDR killings that took place at the BDR headquarters in Peelkhana, Dhaka." (Lalbagh Police Station Case No. 65, Dated: 28-02-2009 AD), Section 3/4/6 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908 (Act No. VI of 1908) (Charge No. 127(1), Dated: 12-07-2010 AD), G, R No. 110/09, Metropolitan Special Tribunal Judge's Court, Dhaka Metro Special Tribunal Case No. 777/2010, hereby declares the temporary court building adjacent to the Dhaka Central Jail at Keraniganj in Dhaka District in place of the temporary court building located in the grounds adjacent to the Government Alia Madrasa and Dhaka Central Jail in Bakshi Bazar area of Dhaka Metropolitan City, declared in the original S, R, O No. 403-Act/2010 dated 28 December 2010, and hereby orders that the trial of the said case shall be held in the temporary court building and The trial will be held at the temporary court building adjacent to the Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, Dhaka district. – PID Handout
