The High Court has granted bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilito Sanatan Jagran Jote and former ISKCON leader, in a sedition case.

The bail order was passed on Tuesday by a High Court bench comprising Justice Md Atoar Rahman and Justice Md Ali Reza.

Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested in Dhaka on 25 November last year following allegations of desecrating the national flag.

The case was initially filed on 31 October 2023 at Kotwali Police Station in Chattogram by Firoz Khan, then the General Secretary of Chandgaon Mohora Ward BNP.

Firoz Khan has since been relieved of his party position. A total of 20 individuals, including Chinmoy Krishna Das, were named in the case, with several arrests made during the investigation.
