Dhaka, 6 July - Bangladesh made a plan to how they comeback in the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan from the disappointing loss in the first game at a moment when the whole country is engrossed with the retirement of Tamim Iqbal.

The Tigers lost the first ODI by 17 runs through DLS method after putting up a shaky batting show, that saw them restricted for 169-9 in a game that was reduced to 43 overs.

Afghanistan reached 83-2 in 21.4 overs, and ahead of 17 runs by DLS before further rain brought an end to the game.

Towhid Hridoy was the only batter who could stand tall, scoring 51 runs against a much-vaunted spin attack of Afghanistan.

Hridoy believes that Bangladesh are able to make a strong comeback by winning the second ODI, which will be held on Saturday.

"I believe we can make a strong comeback from here. I feel we made some silly mistakes in the first game and if we could rectify those, there is no reason that we can't win the second game," Hridoy said in Chattogram after the first match.

"I don't think the wicket was very difficult but initially as the ball was keeping low it became a problem and it had two kind of bounce. If we could have done better with the bat then the outcome would have been totally different. Overall our batting was not good."

Hridoy said that Bangladesh would be bolstered with further confidence if they can deal with Afghan spinners properly as the side has variety in their spin attack.

"For the first time I played Rashid [in this ODI. I have played against Mujeeb in Under-19 while in the BPL I have played against Nabi bhai," said the right-handed batsman.

"If we can do well against their spinners in that case it will become easy to play against other spinners. Even Shakib bhai was telling me that it will be challenging but we need to come out of it and do something good," he said.
