The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the first two games of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand.

Two experienced campaigners Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah Riyad have made their return in the team with that series. Soumya Sarkar, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Zakir Hossain, Rishad Hossain and Khaled Ahmed have also been included in the list.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh regular captain Shakib Al Hasan has been rested for the series. Besides, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud and Shoriful Islam have also been kept out of the squad to provide them some breathing spaces ahead of the World Cup.
On the other hand, a fraction of New Zealand cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka around 10:20 pm on Saturday to play the ODI series against Bangladesh ahead of the upcoming World Cup in India. The other players will join their team on Sunday afternoon.
New Zealand will face Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series on September 21, 23 and 26 before the World Cup. All three matches of the series will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. They will come here again to play a Test series after the World Cup.
Meanwhile, New Zealand Cricket Board is sending the team keeping some key players like Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Tim Southee, Mark Chapman, Mitchel Santner, Glane Philips James Neesham in the rest considering the upcoming World Cup. However, Trent Boult who returned after a long time has been included in the team.
Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson will lead the 15-member team for the first time. All-rounder Dean Foxcroft is the new face of the team.
