Hangzhou, China, 5 Oct - Bangladesh face India in the first semifinal of 19th Asian Games cricket scheduled to be held Friday at Zhejiang University of technology Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field Stadium.

The match kicks off at 7 am (BST).

The Bangladesh team had their optional training today before the semifinal match at the match venue. However most of the cricketers, who played the last quarterfinal match against Malaysia, in the main XI skipped the day's training session.

Prior to the semifinal match, Bangladesh cricket team's head coach David Hemp was found optimistic to beat India in the semifinal.

Accepting India is the strongest participating team in men's cricket, Hemp said he has confidence over his boys as they can afford to win the match.

Asian Games cricket is being held in T20 format. Bangladesh earned a narrow margin of two runs win against Malaysia in the quarterfinal.

The Bangladesh coach said the boys are determined to learn from the last match there and upbeat to fight back in the semifinal.

Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy said that the team would try their best possible effort to win the semifinal after correcting the mistakes in the first quarterfinal match.

The Bangladesh cricket team won gold in the 2010 Guangzhou Asiad and secured bronze in the 2014 Incheon Asiad.
