Dhaka, 31 Jan—Bangladesh Under-19 Women’s team stayed
unbeaten in the group phase of Women’s U19 Tri nation T20 tournament after
beating Pakistan by four wickets at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in
Cox’s Bazar today.

This was the second time in the double-leg tournament that the young Tigresses
beat Pakistan. In the first-leg match, they outclassed Pakistan by 36 runs.

Bangladesh also beat Sri Lanka, the other team of the tournament, twice (by five
wickets and 1 run) to make sure that they would move to the final unbeatably.

Sri Lanka are the other finalists. Their first match against Pakistan was washed out
due to rain but they confirmed the final spot by beating Pakistan by 31 runs in the
second-leg match.

Pakistan could have eliminated Sri Lanka from the race had they beat Bangladesh
in this match but they were restricted to paltry 96-5 after being put into bat first.
Samiya Afsari alone made 48 runs.

Bangladesh however raced to the victory with 97-6 in 17 overs with Sumaiya
Akter making highest 38.
