Dhaka, 10 March-Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy was fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching ICC Code of Conduct during the third T20

International against Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Bangladesh suffered a 28-run defeat in the third game and lost the series by 2-1. Sri Lanka celebrated the victory with Timed Out gesture, hinting that they are yet to move on from the World Cup incident when Shakib Al Hasan inflicted timed out dismissal on Angelo Mathews. The incident further dented the relationship between the two teams.

However the series deciding third game between the two sides was eventful with the players engaging in verbal spats for several times. Hridoy's incident occurred in the fourth over of Bangladesh's innings, when after being dismissed, Hridoy turned around on his way back to the pavilion and remonstrated aggressively and inappropriately with the Sri Lankan players.

He admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, so there was no need for a formal hearing.

On-field umpires Sharfuddoula Saikat and Tanvir Ahmed, third umpire Gazi Sohel and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman levelled the charge.
