Jakir Hasan debuts in Test match



Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first in the Dhaka Test against South Africa on Monday.

Bangladesh came to this series after a 2-0 defeat to India.
The hosts never won a Test against South Africa in their previous 14 meetings. But they aimed to change their fate, this time at home.
Bangladesh included Mahmudul Hasan Joy, debutant Jaker Ali, and Nayeem Hasan for this match, replacing Shakib Al Hasan, Khaled Ahmed, and Zakir Hasan, reports UNB.
Aiden Markram is leading South Africa in this match without regular captain Temba Bavuma.
