Opu, Shuvagata put Rangpur in trouble in NCL

Dhaka, 27 Oct - Spinners Nazmul Islam Opu and Shuvagata Hom shared seven wickets between them as Dhaka Division put them on top against Rangpur Division in their second game of the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL) at BKSP-3 ground today.

After the first day was washed out, Rangpur was bowled out for 253 after being asked to bat first. Opu took 4-78 while Shuvagata claimed 3-51 to rip through Rangpur's innings.

Captain Abdullah Al Mamun made the highest 68 to help Rangpur go past 250-plus total. 

Dhaka reached 70-1 in 17.2 overs at stumps, with Ashikur Rahman Shibli making the highest 45 not out with Joyraj Sheikh on 18.

The match between Khulna and Barishal also saw the action on Day 2 after the first day was called off. Opting to bat first, Khulna reached 130-1 before the bails were drawn. Anamul Haque Bijoy was batting on 66 with Amit Mojumder yet to score.

Soumya Sarkar was trapped and run out after scoring 63.
