Dhaka,  4 Nov-West Indies star Johnson Charles vowed to win the

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) title for Dhaka Capitals, which has roped in him as direct signing for the tournament.

'I will play for Dhaka Capitals in this year's BPL. Dhaka fans get ready, come to support us. Let's fight together and bring the trophy to Dhaka," Charles said in a video posted by the team's social media platform today.
"It's gonna be a blast."

Charles was seen in the BPL for the last few years. He won the title for Rangpur Riders and also got a taste of the title for Comilla Victorians.

Charles played for Comilla Victorians in the last two seasons of BPL in fact.

In the first season, he hammered 52 ball-79, smashing seven fours and five sixes to help Comilla win the final against Sylhet Strikers.

In that season Comilla confirmed the playoffs, thanks to the century of Johnson Charles as the Caribbean star slammed 107 off 56 balls with five fours and 11 sixes to help the side chase down Khulna's 211.

Although he did not win the title in the last season, he took the team to the finals through his consistent good performance.

He has another century in BPL during his stint with Rangpur Riders. In the fifth season, he scored a century against Comilla Victorians in the second qualifier for Rangpur Riders.

Dhaka which will play this BPL under new ownership, also expects Charles to blast this season for them.

"When Johnson Charles says, 'it's gonna be a blast', you know something big is coming!," they wrote in their social media platform. "The Dhakaiyas are eagerly waiting to see your fireworks, Johnson."
