BCB president hands over Tk20 lakh to national women's booters

Dhaka, 20 Nov -The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed today handed over a cheque of Tk 20 lakh to Bangladesh Women's football team.

The cheque was given in recognition of the SAFF Women's Championship 2024 triumph. Captain Sabina Khatun received the cheque on behalf of the team.

BCB Directors Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, Fahim Sinha and National Women's Football Team Manager Mahmuda Akter were present during the cheque handover.         

BCB earlier announced the Tk20 lakh reward for the women booters after they defended SAFF title by defeating Nepal 2-1 in the final at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, in October.

Previously, the BCB awarded Tk50 lakh to the women's football team after they won their maiden SAFF title in 2022, securing a 3-1 victory against the same team in the final at the same venue.
