Mominul enters 10K club in first class cricket

Dhaka, 25 Nov - Mominul Haque became the third Bangladeshi player to reach the milestone 10,000 runs club in the first class cricket.

His feat came during the course of his 50 runs knock in Bangladesh's first innings against West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua yesterday.

Tushar Imran, who played just five Test matches was the first Bangladeshi cricketer to enter this club and ended his career with 11,972 runs after playing 307 first class matches. Naeem Islam was the second one to reach the milestone. He now has 10, 624 runs in 278 matches under his belt. His 278 matches included 8 Tests.

Mominul was the only player among the three to play Test cricket on regular basis.

Mominul's 152 first class matches included 68 Tests and he so far scored 10005 runs at an average of 39.50 with 29 centuries and 45 half-centuries.

In 68 Test, Mominul made 4401 runs at an average of 38 with 13 centuries and 20 half-centuries. His 13 centuries is highest amongst the Bangladeshi batters.
