Dhaka, 29 Dec -Middle order batter Afif Hossain is keen to use Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as a platform to regain his T20 form, which went downhill spiral recently.
Of late Afif Hossain made a comeback into the national team for white-ball cricket during the side's West Indies tour but had little impact.
He scored 28, 24 and 15 runs respectively in the three-match ODI series against West Indies as Bangladesh were whitewashed in the series. He made just 8 in the first T20 and was dropped from the last two matches.
Bangladesh, however, reversed the result by sweeping the T20 series against West Indies.
With more players waiting in the pipeline, a comeback in T20 set up looked tougher for the batter but he refused to give up the hopes.
"If you do well, of course (the opportunity) it will come again. It is not
like that my time is over. I still have enough time. If I can do well in BPL, then there will be a chance to make my comeback," said Afif who will play for Khulna Tigers in this year's BPL.
"The BPL is very important for every player. And for me it's really very
important. I am looking forward to play well here. If I can do well here, it will be beneficial for me. The performance will not only help me to make my case stronger for national team but also it will open the gate for franchise cricket around the world. I hope I can give my best for the team."
Afif is also hopeful about the chance of Khulna Tigers which he said formed a good team that can fight for the title.
"The team that Khulna formed is very good, especially we got some talented local players, who can turn the game with their own. And if the foreign players, who we recruited play for full season, we will have the chance to make a statement."
