Nahid Rana leaves Bangladesh for PSL

Dhaka, 26 April -Fast bowler Nahid Rana left the country today to play the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he will be the part of Peshwar Zalmi.

PSL will be the Bangladesh's speedsters first franchise tournament outside of
the country.

Even though Bangladesh were busy with playing the Test series against
Zimbabwe at home, the team management decided to give him the NOC after the
first Test.

Hence he was not in the squad for the second Test, a match that Bangladesh
will play to avoid a whitewash at the hands of Zimbabwe for the first time on
home soil.

Liton Das and legspinner Rishad Hossain were the two other Bangladesh players
to have got the opportunity to play the PSL after 39 Bangladesh players put
their name in the draft.

Liton was acquired by Karachi Kings and was granted NOC for whole season but
an unfortunate injury forced his return to the country even before the PSL
starts.

Rishad, meanwhile, continued to impress in every match he is playing for the
Lahore Qalanders.

Nahid, who created sensation with his raw pace was hot cake in PSL draft. He
was placed in gold category and got the team in the first call as Peshwar
Zalmi roped in his service without any reservation.

Peshwar are in the fourth spot in the point table after securing two wins in
five matches. They will play their sixth match in Lahore tomorrow.

Considering the position in the point table, Peshware's aspiration to play
playoffs looked in limbo.

However, Nahid Rana said he is confident to do well in his first stint with
the foreign franchise league.

"I have the confidence on myself," Nahid Rana told the reporters ahead of
leaving the country. "I want to give my best for my team Peshwar. Hopefully I
will thrive in here."BSS
