
Dhaka, 9 Dec - Visiting Sri Lanka Under-17 team leveled the three-match one-day series against Bangladesh with a six-wicket victory in the second game today at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram today.
Bangladesh youngsters won the first match by 78 runs on the back of strong batting performance but they failed to come with terms with the willow in the second game.
Opting to bat first, the hosts were bowled out for just 194 in 46.5 overs with opener Sk. Jarif Siyam top-scoring with 52 runs. No other batter reached even 30-run mark.
Jarif struck three fours and two sixes in his 65 -ball-knock.
Sri Lanka overhauled the target in 45.5 overs, with Hirun Matheesha leading the charge with an unbeaten 80-run knock. Arosha Sithumina was the other notable scorer with 50.
After the opener Rehan Peiris was dismissed for cheaply, Sithumina and Matheesha added 80-run for the second wicket to pave the platform of the victory.
Sithumina, though was dismissed, Matheesha went to lead the side to the victory.
After impressing with the willow, Jarif also claimed two wickets for 35 runs with his wily off-spin for a lone battle for the side.
The series-deciding third match is on December 12 at the same venue.BSS
