Dhaka, 23 Dec— Sylhet Titans pacer Ebadot Hossain expressed his excitement about having Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir in the team, saying that the veteran bowler’s wealth of experience will be invaluable for the side in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

“Amir has so much to offer, and we can learn a lot from him,” Ebadot said after the team’s practice session in Sylhet. “With over 400 wickets in his career, he is a T20 giant. His experience will be a huge asset to our team, and we hope he will give his best,” he added.

Sylhet signed Amir directly after the franchisees were given the chance to sign two foreign players before the auction. Amir, however, joined the team’s practice a few days before the start of the BPL.

Amir will be part of a strong pace attack alongside Syed Khaled Ahmed, Shohidul Islam, Rejaur Rahman Raja, and Ebadot himself, creating a formidable fast-bowling unit for Sylhet, Ebadot added.

“We have a really solid team, a great mix of local and foreign players. There’s a good balance of experienced seniors and energetic juniors in the squad. I would say the strength of our bowling and batting is pretty equal, about 50-50,” he said.

“But if I am honest, I think our bowling attack is slightly stronger. With Amir Bhai in the lineup, along with myself, Khaled, Shohidul, and Rejaur, we have a lot of performers. Our team is looking really strong, Alhamdulillah.”

Ebadot also shared the team’s main goal for the tournament: to win the trophy.

“We’re aiming to be champions. If everyone performs well on the field, we believe we can take the title,” he said, revealing their team mantra for this year: ‘This time we will succeed.’

“It’s all about staying positive. Hearing that motivates me. I truly feel like we’ll be champions this year, InshaAllah. We’re moving forward with that mindset, and with Allah’s help, we believe we can win it.”BSS
