Robber held with arms, ammunition in Khulna

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested an alleged robber along with arms and ammunition from the Sundarbans in Koyra upazila of Khulna district on Friday.


The arrestee was identified as Azharul Islam alias Khanjahan, 40, son of Joynal Kha of Joynagar village in Dacope upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-6 conducted a drive at Sonamukundi Morol Canal under Dakshin Betkashi Union in the upazila and arrested Azharul, according to a Rab-6 press release.

The elite force also recovered two shutter guns and 36 rounds of ammunition from his possession, reports UNB.
