Firearm, gunpowder recovered in C'nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered a shooter gun, one bullet and around 1.850 kg of gunpowder, along with other bomb-making materials, from a mango orchard in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.


The items were recovered from the Fasitola area near a Padma River embankment under Ghorapakhia union on Thursday night, Chapainawabganj camp of RAB-5 said in a press release on Friday noon.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the camp conducted a raid on the orchard around 11:45pm.

During the operation, the team found the firearm, ammunition, gunpowder and other bomb-making materials abandoned at the site, the release said.

The seized items were handed over to Shibganj Police Station for further action, reports UNB.
