Woman arrested over killing mother-in-law in Cox’sbazar

Police has arrested a woman named Rasheda Begum in connection with the murder of her mother-in-law in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar.



Police has arrested a woman named Rasheda Begum in connection with the murder and dismemberment of her mother-in-law in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
The deceased is Mamtaj Begum (70), wife of late Golam Kabir at Mordham Umkhali under South Mithachhari union of Ramu upazila.
Being informed by locals, a police team headed by Cox’sbazar Additional Police Super Md Rafiqul Islam recovered the body from a grave inside a sack near the house on Sunday evening.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramu Thana Anoarul Hossain said during primary interrogation, Rasheda admitted to the killing of her mother-in-law. She chopped the body into six pieces and later buried her after the murder, he added.
The body parts were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
A case in this connection has been filed.
