The arrestees are—Shantanur Hossain Rubel alias Potato Rubel, 27, and Mosiur Rahman Rocky, 28.
RAB-4 media officer assistant police super (ASP) Mazharul Islam on Saturday said members of RAB-4 and RAB-8 conducted separate drives in Savar and Bakerganj of Barishal and arrested the two accused on Friday night.
The RAB official said the arrestees are the leaders of an organised juvenile gang. They are involved in different types of crimes, including mugging, murder. In primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed their involvement in killing the school student Siam.
On May 21, unidentified miscreants with sharp weapons attacked Siam, 14, a seventh-grader of Kabi Nazrul High School in Mirpur, in the Basupara area of Lalkuthi in the capital's Darussalam, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, where on duty-doctors declared him dead. Siam's mother Swapna Begum as plaintiff filed a case with the Darussalam Police Station
