Twelve women, who flew to Saudi Arabia to work as house helps, returned home after being tortured.

The Airport Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) took initiatives to bring the victims back after the law enforcement agency found specific allegations of their torture.

Md Ziaul Haque, additional superintendent of police at AAPBn, said, a man who was claimed to be husband of a woman of the victims revealed law enforcers at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport that his wife flew to Saudi Arabia to work as house help through recruiting agency MH Trade International six months ago. But he could contact with there since then. He could know through people that his wife was being tortured physically and mentally. The person sought help of AAPBn to help his wife back home. Alongside, he also filed complaint against the recruiting agency. After that, an intelligence team of AAPBn started investigation.

Police ‘however’ found primary evidence over the torture.

Ziaul Haque said the women and 11 others landed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a flight of Indigo Airlines on Saturday afternoon. Members AAPBn received them at the airport. Taking legal actions against the recruiting agency and others concerned was underway.
