Inspector Mamun murder: Another testified against Arav Khan

Another witness testified against the accused Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan in the murder case of the Police Inspector Mamun in a Dhaka Court on Thursday.

The witness named Monindra Mohon testified in Dhaka's First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Faisal Atiq Bin Quader's court. With this, the testimony of 11 of the 38 witnesses ended in the case.

Earlier on June 4, four police officers testified in the case. 

On July 28 of last year, the court recorded the statement of Jahangir Alam, complainant of the case.

The other accused in this case are Sarwar Hasan, Suraiya Akhtar Kaya, Rahmat Ullah, Swapan Sarkar, Mizan Sheikh, Atiq Hasan, and Didar Pathan. 

However, of the accused Arav and Kaya are absconding.

On July 7, 2018, Police Inspector Mamun was killed in Banani. After the incident, Mamun’s brother filed a murder case. After investigation, on March 31, 2019, the police submitted the charge sheet of the case in the court against eight people including Rahmat Ullah and Rabiul Islam.

On November 25, 2021, the court ordered the trial to begin framing charge against the accused people. - Special Correspondent
