Husband accused of killing wife arrested in Kalapara.

Patuakhali: Police arrested fugitive husband Md Rajib (35) in connection with the murder of  his wife Nargis Begum (23) in Kalapara of Patuakhali. On Monday night at about 10:30 p.m. Kalapara Thana police and RAB members arrested him from Mahishkata village of neighboring Amtali upazila in a joint operation.

Earlier on Saturday night, police recovered the body of housewife Nargis Begum (23), daughter of Md. Anwar Hossain and wife of Rajib, mother of one child from Lemupara village of the upazila and sent it to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased housewife has a one-and-a-half-year-old baby daughter. Since the deceased housewife had a black mark on her neck and her husband was absconding, police suspected it to be murder since the incident.

Ali Ahmed, OC of  Kalapara Police Station, said that killer husband Rajib was arrested on Monday night based on secret information. Rajib, the husband of the deceased housewife, confessed to the murder during the initial interrogation. On Tuesday, he was arrested in a murder case and sent to court. - Gofran Biswas Palash
