One more remanded over constable Pervez murder

Metropolitan magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury placed him on remand after police produced accused Shahidullah before the court.



A court in Dhaka on Tuesday placed a man on a two-day remand in a case filed over killing of police constable Amirul Islam Pervez on October 28.

Metropolitan magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury placed him on remand after police produced accused Shahidullah before the court and pleading to place him on a seven-day police remand.

Earlier on October 30, another court placed two people including Polashbari Swechasebak Dal convener Shamim on seven-day remand in the case.

Police filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station against 164 people, making BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam as the prime accused in the case.

The 32-year-old constable Pervez was killed during BNP's grand rally at Naya Paltan in Dhaka on October 28.
