BGB recoveres 33,200 US dollars in Meherpur

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized 32,200 US dollars equivalent to around  Tk 39.84 lakh from Buripota bordering area in Meherpur district on Saturday morning.

Tipped off, a team of BGB -6 Battalion from Chuadanga conducted a drive near pillar no 116/4-s and seized the US dollars wrapped in black polythene in an abandoned condition at 10:30 am, said Commanding officer of BGB-6 Lieutenant Colonel Syed Mohammad Zahidur Rahman while briefing reporters.

No one was arrested in this connection and a case was filed with Meherpur Sadar Police Station, he said.

The seized money will be deposited to the treasurer office of Meherpur district, he added.
