'Ekota Express' train coach derails in Kamalapur

The Ekota Express was going to Panchagarh from Dhaka.



A coach of 'Ekota Express' train derailed at Kamalpur Station in the capital on Tuesday morning.

The train services was halted for 30 minutes following the derailment that happened at about 10:30am.

The Ekota Express was going to Panchagarh from Dhaka.

Mohammad Anwar Hossain, the station master, said, "Ekota Express train was scheduled to leave Kamalapur for Panchagarh at 10:15am. But it left the station around 10:23am. After sometimes, a coach, middle of the train, suddenly derailed. 

The operation of movement of other trains at the station was stopped for 20-25 minutes. After that, the train resumed moving, he added.
