One held with 3.5 kg gold at Shahjalal Airport

Customs intelligence officials detained a person along with 28 gold bars weighing nearly 3.5 kilogrammes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Farhana Begum, assistant director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, confirmed the news at a press release issued on Saturday (February 3).

On secret information, a team of customs intelligence searched the body of Masud Imam and recovered 28 gold bars weighing nearly 3.5 kilograms from him, the release said.

The market value of the seized gold is approximately Tk 3,14,82000.
