Jubo League leader stabbed dead in Jashore
The incident occurred at about 9:45pm in Nowapara Bazar area.
A local Jubo League (JL) leader was hacked to death by miscreants in Jashore's Abhaynagar upazila on Sunday night.
Deceased Murad Hossain, 36, was general secretary of ward 4 unit (under Abhaynagar municipality) of Awami League's youth front.
The incident occurred at about 9:45pm in Nowapara Bazar area.
Abhaynagar Police Station OC Atikul Islam said miscreants, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked Murad at Nowapara Bazar, leaving him critically injured.
Hearing his screams, locals rescued him and first took to the Upazila Health Complex. He succumbed to his injuries while shifting to Khulna Medical College Hospital, the OC said, adding that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Efforts are underway to nab the attackers, the police official added.
