Two Swechhasebak League men hacked in Sylhet

Sylhet, Sep 09 -A Swechasebak League leader and an activist were hacked by unidentified miscreants in Sylhet city on Sunday night.

The injured are Manjur Ahmed, general secretary of ward No-7 unit of the Awami League’s voluntary wing Swechasebak League and party activist Rumel Ahmed. They are the residents of Lal-Sabuj residential area of the city.

Of them, Manjur was shifted to a Dhaka hospital due to critical injuries as the miscreants severed the tendons in his hands and legs.

CCC ward No 7 councillor Sayeed Md Abdullah said the duo came under attack in front of a shop a few yards off their houses in Bonkola Para around 8pm.

Airport Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Md Anisur Rahman said they learnt about the matter but no complaint has been lodged in this regard yet. - UNB
