Laguna driver stabbed to death in Dhaka's Rampura

Dhaka, Oct 30 - A laguna driver was stabbed to death and another was injured in Dhaka's Rampura by alleged extortionists on Tuesday night

The deceased was identified as Hasan,22 and injured Nurul Alam, 23. Both were leguna drivers.

Injured Nurul said, around 10:15 pm he and Hasan were operating their vehicles on Rampura-Banasree and Khilgaon-Madartek routes.

He said, some boys in the area, including one Emon and his accomplices attempted to collect money from drivers at the leguna stand in Banasree, Rampura Bridge. When Hasan and Nurul tried to resist, they stabbed both of them and fled.

Later, they were taken to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Hasan dead.

According to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp In-Charge Inspector Md. Farooq, the body of Hasan has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Investigations are on to get details, he added.-UNB
