3 members of a robber gang arrested in Dhaka

The robber gang arrested while preparing to commit robbery



Dhaka, Jan 05 - Police have arrested three members of a robber gang while they were preparing to commit robbery in the Darussalam area of the capital.

The arrestees were identified as Sabbir Hossain, 21, Rabbi Hawladar, 20, and Sabuj Hossain, 20.

Acting on a tip-off that a gang of robbers was preparing to commit a robbery, a team of police conducted a drive in the Dwipnagar BGB Market area around 10:15 pm on Saturday and arrested them along with some sharp weapons, including a machete, while the others managed to fled the scene.

Police also seized a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and two rolls of scotch tape from their possession, said Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the DMP.

Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining members of the gang, he said further.-UNB
