Three individuals have tragically lost their lives after allegedly consuming toxic liquor in the Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh district.

The victims have been identified as Sumon Mia, 35, son of Abdur Rashid; Abdul Jalil, 53, son of Kitab Ali; and Nizam Uddin, 50, son of Masud Mia, all residents of Char Algi union in the upazila.

According to Shibirul Islam, the officer-in-charge of Gafargaon Police Station, the men—along with a fourth individual, Sajib—consumed the harmful liquor on the night of Wednesday, February 5. Shortly after, they all lost consciousness.

Local residents rushed them to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex, where Sumon Mia was pronounced dead. Nizam Uddin and Abdul Jalil were later transferred to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital, where they were both declared dead by doctors, confirmed Shafik Uddin, a sub-inspector at the hospital police camp.
