Sirajul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baraigram Police Station in Natore, has been removed and reassigned to the police line due to negligence in handling a robbery and harassment case involving two female passengers on a Dhaka-Rajshahi night bus. He also failed to notify higher authorities about the incident.

The decision was confirmed by Dr. Mohammad Shahjahan, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rajshahi Range, who visited Baraigram Police Station on Tuesday. Shortly afterward, OC Islam was dismissed.

On Monday night, robbers hijacked a Unique Road Royals "Amri Travels" bus traveling from Dhaka to Rajshahi. The hijacking lasted for nearly three hours before the bus was returned to the same spot around 4:00 am. During the robbery, female passengers were reportedly harassed.
