Mother, daughter stabbed dead at Bogura home

A 58-year-old woman and her daughter were stabbed to at their house at Sabgram in Sadar upazila of Bogura district early Saturday.


The deceased were identified as Anwara Begum and her daughter Sakina Begum, 35.

Quoting family members, Nazmul Haque , in-charge of Naruli Police camp, said Sakina divorced her first husband Badsha Mia and married Rubel six years back.

But due to Rubel’s drug addiction she left his house and started to leave along with her mother Anwara and son Sabbir(from her first husband) at Akashtala in the town, reports UNB.

Sakina again married her ex-husband Badsha Mia one month ago.

Hearing the matter, Rubel got furious , entered the house of Sakina and hit Sakina with a sharp weapon, leaving her injured.

Anwara suffered injuries as she tried to save her daughter.

Both Sakina and Anwara were taken to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital where Sakina succumbed to her injuries around 1:30 am and Anwara around 11 am on Saturday.

Police visited the spot and recovered the sharp weapon which might have been used in the killings, said Nazmul.
