The body of a 55-year-old woman, Mukta Begum, was discovered with her throat slit at her home in Barijangal village, Bhedarganj upazila, on Tuesday night.

Her husband, Mannan Gazi, told authorities that he had locked the main door and left for Tarabi prayers, leaving his wife at home. Upon returning, he found her body lying on the bed, according to Bhedarganj Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Parvez Hasan Selim.

As news of the incident spread, a local mosque broadcasted over its loudspeaker that a robbery had occurred. However, the OC stated that the police have not yet confirmed any robbery, and an investigation is ongoing to uncover the full details of the case.
