Joint forces arrest 8 terrorists in Khulna

The joint forces arrested eight terrorists, including Md Zunayed, known as 'Bahini Chief' from Rupsha upazila in Khulna, early this morning.

Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha police station confirmed the matter.

A combined team of Army and Police conducted the drive around 4am at the dock and residence of Md Zunayed, the leader of a terrorist group, located in Aichgati Union of Rupsha upazila, the OC said.

During the raid, the law enforcement team arrested Md Zunayed, 55, his son Sheikh Zidan, 26, and six of his associates: Md Zahiduzzaman, 48, Md Mosarraf Hossain, 42, Md Mizanur Rahman, 43, Azanur Munsi, 36, Zahir Uddin, 36, and Md Masud Rana, 40, reports BSS.

The operation team also seized one country-made pistol, 4 country-made pipe guns, one Chinese axe, one machete and a knife from their possession, OC said.

A case has been filed with Rupsha police station in this connection.
