DMP files 1,450 cases against traffic rule violations

The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,450 cases against motor vehicle owners and drivers for violating traffic rules across the capital during the last one day.


A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Saturday (May 17) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 185 motor vehicles were dumped and 96 vehicles were wrecked due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement, reports BSS.
