The house of a Swechchasebak Dal activist was set on fire by some miscreants at Jamalpur village in Bheramara upazila of Kushtia district early Saturday.

Quoting local people, Nazmul Hossain, sub-inspector of  Kuchiamora police camp said, a group of armed miscreants carried out attack on the house of Lal Chand, a member of Bahadurpur union unit Swechasebak Dal, around 1 am and set the room of his brother Subol Ahmed, an activist of local unit Jubo Dal, afire.

Later, they also hurled crude bombs while fleeing the scene, creating panic among people.

However, local people managed to put the fire under control.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered two unexploded crude bombs from the spot.

Subol Ahmed alleged that the attack was carried out by rival political groups.

Subol further alleged that Bahadurpur UP Chairman Sohel Rana Pabon along with Raton Haji and Alamgir from the Kuchiamora area carried out the attack, reports UNB.
