Scrap trader Sohag murder: Two more accused held in Keraniganj



Dhaka, July 23 – Police in a drive arrested two more accused from Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka in a case filed in connection with the murder of scrap vendor Lalchand alias Md Sohag.

The arrestees were Md Pervez, 26 and Zahirul Islam, 38.

Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in  Keraniganj area and arrested them, said deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Talebur Rahman.

Sohag was killed on July 9 in broad daylight outside the Gate-3 of Mitford Hospital.

People saw the attackers repeatedly striking him with a concrete boulder, exposing a grim picture of brutality.

A video showing the act of cruelty went viral on social media, sparking public outcry.

A case was filed with Kotwali Police Station.

Earlier, nine accused including the prime accused in the case were arrested. - UNB
