Jubo Dal activist stabbed dead in Sylhet
An activist of Jubo Dal was stabbed to death over previous enmity in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet district early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Rony Hossain, 30, son of Azim Uddin of the area.
Quoting local people, Md Maniruzzaman Molla, officer-in-charge of Golapganj police station, said Rony had an altercation with his friend Sheikh Raju, former organising secretary of Golapganj upazila unit Chhatra Dal, as Raju allegedly defamed Rony sharing a post on his facebook wall centering a woman.
Rony was stabbed at Kadamtali area in Golapganj upazila at midnight.
He was taken to Osmani Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Ratna Begum, mother of Rony, alleged that Raju’s wife complained of Rony over the extramarital relationship of Raju and the two friends had been at loggerheads over the issue, reports UNB.
However, Raju fled the area after the murder.
