Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 rescued an abducted underage girl and arrested three kidnappers from Laldighee Bazar area in Pirganj upazila in the district on Wednesday afternoon
"On a tip- off, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialized Company (CPSC) of RAB-13 conducted a raid there, rescued the tonnage girl and arrested the kidnappers," a press release said today.
  The arrested abductors are Md. Sajjad Hussaine alias Abir, Md. Anwar Hossain alias Hiron and Md. Saiful Islam alias Arif of Nurpur area under Kotwali police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP).
  Earlier, the elite force started a shadow investigation into an abduction case filed by a man against few people with Kotwali police station of RpMP on April 15 last.
Making best use of the digitised information and communication technologies, the elite force detected the location of the kidnappers with the abducted girl in Laldighee area.
  "Accordingly, the CPSC of RAB-13 from Rangpur conducted a raid at Laldighee Bazar area, rescued the victim and arrested the three abductors," the release said.
  During primary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted their involvement in kidnapping the victim girl forcibly against her will.
  "The elite force handed over the arrested kidnappers to Kotwali police station of RpMP for taking further legal actions against them," the release added.
