Two siblings stabbed dead in Chuadanga

Two siblings were stabbed and beaten to death allegedly by rivals at Utholi in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district on Saturday.


The deceased were identified as Anwar alias Minto, 55 and Hamza, 45 two sons of Khoda Box of Utholi village.

Quoting local people Mamun Biswas, officer-in-charge of Jibannagar Police Station, said Anwar and Hamza had been at loggerheads with one of their neighbors over selling cattle.

On Saturday morning, the neighbours of the two siblings attacked them near no 72 bridge of rail line in Utholi village around 10 am and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving them injured.

One of them died on the way to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital while another succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, said Dr Wahid Mahmud Robin, duty doctors of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, reports UNB. 

Police are trying to arrest the attackers, said the OC.
