A man was killed and three others were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Gobindahuda village in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Joynur, 53 of the village.

Quoting local people, Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Model Police Station, said there had been longstanding enmity between Nurul Haque Peshkar and Masud Billah Mantu group over the ownership of a piece of land.

As a sequel to the enmity, the supporters of both groups attacked each other with starp weapon around 8:30 am, leaving four people including Joynur injured.

Later, they were taken to Sadar Hospital where Joynur succumbed to his injuries.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, reports UNB.

Additional police have been deployed in the area to avert further trouble.
