The charge sheet in the murder case of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi is expected to be submitted within the next 10 days, Home Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said on Sunday.

He made the announcement after a core committee meeting at the Home Ministry, adding that the trial of the case would be completed within the tenure of the interim government. He also urged all parties not to shelter criminals, terrorists, or fascists.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said the investigation is in its final stage, though certain details remain undisclosed to protect the integrity of the probe. So far, 11 people have been arrested, evidence has been recovered, and bank accounts linked to suspects have been frozen.

Earlier, DMP Additional Police Commissioner SN Md Nazrul Islam said the charge sheet is scheduled to be filed by January 7.

Investigators found that prime accused Faisal Karim Masud and his associate Alamgir fled Dhaka immediately after the killing, travelling from Aminbazar to Kalampur in Manikganj and later to Haluaghat in Mymensingh, possibly crossing the border illegally.

Several accused, including Faisal’s family members, his wife, brother-in-law, girlfriend, and escape facilitator Nuruzzaman, have given confessional statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Additionally, three drivers who transported Faisal and Alamgir, along with the auto-rickshaw driver carrying Hadi at the time of the attack, have recorded statements before the court.
