Suspected drug dealer detained in Bagerhat

A Coast Guard team has detained an alleged drug dealer along with 41 bottles of foreign liquor during an operation in Shyamnagar Upazila of the district.


Coast Guard West Zone Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Md Muntasir Ibne Mohsin confirmed the information on Friday afternoon, reports BSS. 

Acting on a tip-off, members of the Coast Guard from Kaikhali Station conducted a special operation at around 7:00 pm on Thursday in the Paschim Kaikhali area under Shyamnagar Police Station. During the operation, the team detained one individual and seized 41 bottles of foreign liquor worth Tk 1,84,500, he said.

Legal proceedings in this regard are underway, the official added.
