Bangladesh, UK Plan Stronger Education Skills Ties

Bangladesh and the United Kingdom have expressed optimism about deepening cooperation in education, skills development, and employability as both sides look to strengthen future collaboration.

Senior officials from the two countries discussed potential areas of partnership on the sidelines of the Education World Forum 2026 held in London on Wednesday.

Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon and Adviser to the Prime Minister Mahdi Amin met Jonathan Ledger, International Education Strategy Delivery Lead at the UK Department for Business and Trade, during the event.

Representatives from Pearson, Cambridge Partnership for Education, and UK-based technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions also took part in the meeting.

During the discussion, the Bangladeshi side highlighted its priority to improve the quality of education with a strong focus on employability, job readiness, stronger links between industry and academia, and the development of demand-driven curricula and skills training systems.

The UK side shared its experience of working with different countries based on their national priorities and development needs, expressing interest in further expanding collaboration with Bangladesh in the education and skills sector.
