Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has concluded his visit to Pakistan and departed for Tehran just hours before a planned arrival of a United States delegation in Islamabad.

Araghchi wrapped up a day of high-level meetings on Saturday, holding talks with Pakistan’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and senior military officials.

Following the discussions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the talks as warm and productive in a social media post, saying the two sides reviewed regional developments, bilateral ties, and issues of mutual interest.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said the meeting lasted nearly two hours, with both sides stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for regional peace and stability.

Earlier in the day, images circulating from Islamabad suggested that the Iranian foreign minister was leaving the capital after completing his engagements.

According to the White House, a US delegation is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Saturday, including special envoy Steve Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner.

Tehran, however, clarified that Araghchi’s visit was part of a regional diplomatic tour and that no direct meeting with US officials was planned during his stay in Pakistan.
